Volunteers that work with children and young adults are required by the University of Florida to have a background check completed by Santa Rosa County prior to performing the volunteer service. The check is valid for three (3) years. If you plan to do work with children and young adults in our schools or elsewhere, please complete and submit the Asset One Form and submit it to Theresa for processing.
In addition, Each Santa Rosa County School requires that volunteers submit a Volunteer Application and Preferences Checklist Form for that school prior to working at the school. The Application is valid for only one (1) year. Several projects involve Master Gardeners visiting school grounds, including but not limited to Garden Mosaics and Growing Gardeners. Without a completed and approved form you will not be allowed to participate. If you think that you may wish to participate in these projects, please complete the forms and turn them in at the Extension Office. All forms will be checked by the School District and by FDLE.
For those that might volunteer as Guest Speakers, please complete the Guest Speaker Application and Guidelines form> and submit it to the Extension Office at least two weeks prior to the lecture.
