This year’s subject was proper turf cultural practices. Using a spoof on the TV series Gray’s Anatomy, the exhibit features models of turf ailing from four categories of abuse: (1) over-fertilization, (2) over-watering, (3) misapplication of fungicides, insecticides, and herbicides, and (4) incorrect mowing. Each ailing turf model, along with symptoms and remedies, are presented in hospital bed models made from PVC pipe. The remedies are represented by pills attached to the center backdrop panel.
The pills are prescribed by our favorite attending physician, Dr. “McDreamy” Greengrass. He is short but really knows his stuff having attended Theresa’s MG training course lectures on turf for the past three years. He has to get CEU’s too, you know.
Dr. Greengrass’ favorite expression was applied to one of the backdrop’s side panels. It says “More is not always “bedder.” And that’s the truth!
